Zanzibar, an island in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Tanzania, is probably one of the most popular beach destinations in Africa, and for great reasons. The island is surrounded by magnificent beaches with long strips of white sand, soft to the touch, as well as warm, clear blue water, perfect for tourism.
Reason no.1: Did you know that Zanzibar hosts some of the most popular beaches in the word and of course all with good reason. One of the beast beaches to visit is the Northern tip of Zanzibar, Nungwi, where waves break over coral reefs and sand bars offshore, and low tide reveals small pools of starfish, small minnows, and anemones. The smooth beaches and white sand make for a dazzling day in the sun.
Believe it or not Nungwi is one of the cleanest beaches out there.
Reason no.2: Spice Route Tour
Zanzibar is often referred to as “Spice Island” for its centuries of clove, nutmeg, vanilla, and cinnamon production and is one of the top five things to do in Zanzibar. You will be taken to a large spice farm to see, touch, smell and taste( if you’re that adventurous) the many flavors of Zanzibar, you will get to learn how each spice is made and the process it goes through- Rather interesting!
Reason no.3: The iconic full day experience: The safari Blue
You’re probably wondering, what is this, well let us tell you all about it, begin your day with a pick up from your hotel where you will be transferred to the departure point for this full day experience.
Once you board your ship , Ahoy Matie! You will set sail to a little sandbank off the coast of Zanzibar that is only visible in low tide and experience the best views of the blue ocean while snorkeling and enjoying the morning air with fresh fruit.
Afterwards, there are options to keep snorkeling or see a hidden lagoon before enjoying a delicious seafood buffet lunch on Kwale Island.
Reason no.4: Swimming with the Turtles in Nungwi
if ever there was an experience we would say you have to try, it is this one! Definitely that bucket list tick kind of thing. Interesting fact about the turtle conservation: Nungwi is a home endangered sea turtles and a variety of fish. The aquarium itself is a natural formation carved out from the coral bedrock by the erosion of millions of waves crashing against the shore. The depth of the water rises and falls with the tides providing a natural environment for its inhabitants (cool right?)
Reason no 5: Stone town!
One of the best things to do in Zanzibar is wander the streets of Stone Town. A little town filled with so much culture and history. There are many unique places to see in Stone Town from beautiful boutique shops and plenty of fabulous restaurants. You also get to Venture around the famous Forodhani Gardens and the Old Fort!
We could go on about how much more you can do in Zanzibar , but we will leave it to you to come and see it for yourself!
